THE POSITION

The Underwriting Manager is responsible for ensuring that the consumer underwriting process and the solar system underwriting process are conducted in accordance with contractual obligation and/or SolarAccess Energy’s standard operating procedures.  The Underwriting Manager will be expected to serve as a single point of contact for day-to-day Underwriting operations while also working frequently with senior management to ensure that the unit is supporting company and operations team objectives

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee the procedures and output of the Underwriting Team
  • Manage and oversee the Servicing Booking Process
  • Pipeline Management
  • Support all ownership transfer processes 
  • Develop and implement regular reporting to senior management including but not limited to dashboard development
  • Work collaboratively within the company to ensure new capabilities, policies, products, and tools are designed appropriately and implemented to minimize disruption 
  • Develop and identify process and/or programs to improve accuracy, speed and volume for underwriting
  • Manage effective coordination with third party contractors
  • Manage both local (Houston) and remote team members
  • Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing projects is desired but not required
  • 3+ years’ experience in positions of progressively increasing responsibility
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience managing underwriting or financial operations
  • Experience working in a call center is desired but not required
  • Experience in building software requirements is desired
  • Proven Strong Microsoft Excel Skillset
  • Experience in Analytic platform
  • Manage and track multiple requests simultaneously
  • Well-organized, driven, a self-starter and attentive to details. Demonstrate strong organizational skills for her/himself, the team, and third-party vendors
  • Proactively address situations that could create downstream issues
  • Able to tactfully, yet firmly, negotiate with internal business partners or third-party vendors
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical and cognitive ability
  • Comfortable working hard in a fast-paced environment
  • A fast learner and a dependable team player. Successful as a hands-on contributor and as a team member
  • Excel and manage successfully in a high-volume, high-quality environment
  • Startup experience
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, fun to work with, quick to laugh, “can-do / failure is not an option†approach to work

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree
