Transportation Manager
South Shore Stars is a not-for-profit organization providing the highest quality early education and youth development programs for the communities south of Boston. Founded in 1970, we annually serve over 1,200 children and youth age newborn through 18 years in a family child care system, preschool centers, school age centers, middle school programs, a high school program, and summer programs.
South Shore Stars is seeking a Transportation Manager to maintain the day-to-day operations to ensure safe transport of our students, responsibility for coordinating and scheduling transportation, assisting with the coordination and supervision of the daily operations, and communicating effectively with parents, students, affiliated agencies, and school personnel. We are seeking a motivated, independent, organized individual who will help perform the following:

Responsible for all facets of program administration and operations oversight

Driver hiring; Supervision; Contract administration; Scheduling, Routing, and Dispatching; Rider registration, Driver training, Safety Training and compliance, Vehicle Maintenance Scheduling, Billing, and Payroll

Supervises, oversees, and evaluates all drivers.

Coordinates and/offers all trainings and requirements for drivers and associated staff.

Works collaboratively with school districts, other agencies, directors, and public safety personnel to ensure that services are delivered safely, efficiently, and effectively; to monitor all transportation activities; and to resolve issues and concerns to the satisfaction of school and agency programs.

Communicates with parents/guardians and personnel to facilitate the delivery of transportation services to students.

Maintains a hands on, involved presence in day-to-day transportation operations.

Performs inspections to monitor vehicle upkeep and routes.

Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of schedules, routes, stops, student assignments, accident reports, school bus records, bus driver licenses, contracts, and project requirements.

Maintains compliance with all Office of Early Education Regulations, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Regulations, State Transportation and Department of Motor Vehicles Regulations, and Requirements.

Maintains compliance with all associated agency or partner agency Policies, Regulations, and Requirements.

Strives for continual quality and improvement of transportation services.
Qualifications:
Acts as backup 7D driver, preferred

Willingness to gain CDL licensure and oversee all CDL requirements for staff and vehicles as needed

An entrepreneurial attitude to expand and increase transportation offerings, availability, and fleet advancement and expansion

Exhibits a positive attitude and willingness to learn, grow, and collaborate.
