Tool & Die Maker

Whitby, Ontario Full-time $30.00-$40.00/hour

Precise Tool & Die Limited is looking for a Tool & Die Maker to join our team!

We are located in Whitby, minutes from the 401 and we are a global supplier to the automotive, consumer products, and defense industries. We specialize in precision tooling, stampings, and assembled components.

Experience: 3 - 5 years automotive experience; experience working with tight tolerances

Education: Tool and Die Apprenticeship Certification or Tool and Die Journeyman Certification

Qualifications:

  • GD&T, SPC, reading drawings and use of measuring, gauging tools; knowledge of ISO 9001 /IATF 16949
  • Tools: must have tools common to trade practice
  • Able to work independently with limited guidance and supervision
  • Able to communicate and work with fellow employees in a professional and respectful manner
  • Able to lift at least 35 pounds

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Company safety procedures
  • New die builds for metal stamping is a must
  • Build, perform development work and trouble shoot dies, tools, and fixtures to print, sketches or verbal information
  • Repair, maintain and improve existing dies and tooling
  • Develop and produce new build tooling components as per detail drawings
  • Verify conformance of dies, new and/or repaired to specification by checking dimensions, cutting clearances, forms and alignment, as required
  • Prepare sketches for machining of tool details
  • Grind, clean and polish dies, as required
  • Set up and operate manual mills, grinders, drills and other toolroom equipment
  • Set up progressive metal stamping dies, as required
  • Perform layout inspections of both tooling and manufactured components
  • Comply with all Quality Assurance policies and procedures
  • Report all product problems and nonconformance's to your Supervisor, as required
  • Participate in and contribute to effective production efficiency
  • Ensure work environment remains safe, clean and well-maintained
  • Report any deficiencies in systems, facilities, machinery, equipment and/or tools immediately to your Supervisor
  • Record daily job numbers and hours on timecard
  • Document work performed in tooling maintenance records
  • Other responsibilities that may be assigned, as required
  • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Human Resources policies.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week; Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
