Toddler Teacher (2019/20

If 2-year old’s are your favorite and you master this age group, we have a home for you! We love our little ones!

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience working with children age 24-36 months of age. You must have completed a Bachelors degree, preferably in a related field. Masters degree is highly desired and Montessori training or experience a plus.

We are a Spanish & Mandarin immersion school, and so native Spanish AND/OR Mandarin is required. Monolingual English positions are available as well. We invite teachers to promote cross-cultural activities and the dual language immersion program in the school and community. You will be expected to help as a native Spanish/Mandarin/English-speaker, modeling for students and helping them maximize their learning by utilizing the target language consistently in the classroom.

You will be asked to work with your Co-Teacher in best practices with this age group, model those practices, and lead all parent communications.  You need to be able and willing to change diapers. The class size is 10 children working with 2 teachers.  Our Montessori Toddler classroom utilizes IB Units of Inquiry to shape the works.

When working with Toddlers you are often also working with parents who are new to parenting. Therefore, you must be someone with exceptional communication skills and a nurturing, supportive approach.  Our goal is to guide and support parents through the journey of the 2s, helping them learn what their children are capable of and how they can best provide support to them along the way.

Through the use of technology, our students develop and apply strategies for critical and creative thinking, engage in inquiry, make connections, and apply new understandings and skills in different contexts. We ask every teacher to embrace technology and see it as any tool that empowers the learner to broaden the expression of an idea (often artistically), innovate, solve a problem, learn something new, verify what they think they know, communicate and collaborate with others, and so much more.

We work with students individually and in groups, by selecting and employing various teaching methods appropriate for language immersion settings. All teachers are responsible for preparing materials and classrooms for activities, including photocopying, laminating, etc.
