General Statement (Summary of duties and responsibilities):

 

The Tissue Recovery Coordinator (TRC) is responsible for coordinating the tissue donation process, including referral, scheduling, recovery and shipment of recovered tissues.  Assists with hospital development (as needed), professional and public education programming (as needed) and maintains a positive, professional liaison between MORA Tissue Services and the medical/civic community.  On-call and weekend responsibilities are required.

 

 

Education and Work Experience Qualifications:


  1. Bachelors degree in life sciences or Business or Associate degree and completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Operating Room Technician, Mortician, or other life sciences program, plus two (2) years experience within the discipline.

 

  1. At least one(1) year experience as a Recovery Team Leader or equivalent and two (2) years total tissue-banking experience.

 

  1. Current AATB Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) or able to sit for the exam at the earliest available testing time.
