Position Summary:

At Thrive Behavioral Health Center, we deliver industry leading peer support for those suffering from Mental Health and/or Substance Use Disorders.  We are proud to set the industry standard and continue our growth. The ThriveED Liaison is responsible for building relationships within the recovery community and with hospital staff, providing education on substance use disorder and peer support staff to drive referrals to our peer support telehealth line.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support within the ED facility to connect peers with their peer supporters virtually

  • Increase engagement by being a presence within the ED facility and building relationships with the providers in the facility to increase peer referrals

  • Collaborate with the Peer Supporter on shift to ensure the peers are receiving peer support and care coordination services to meet their needs

  • Build relationships with the recovery community and community hospital emergency departments

  • Educate community agencies and emergency department staff on peer support services

  • Coordinate and drive referrals to peer support telehealth line, assisting with documentation requirements as needed

  • Advocate for services and connection for peers to gain access to peer support within the emergency department

  • Provide information and opportunities for emergency departments to direct their own recovery and advocacy processes

  • Assist emergency departments and peer supporters on the referral line in finding resources for harm reduction, detoxification treatment, family support, and support groups

  • Build and maintain strong positive communication with the Thrive team to enhance the success of the centers/communities

  • Meet or exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly goals set forth by the Director of Health Systems 

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with client organizations, team leads and peer supporters

  • Work in collaboration with  other members of the internal team as required

  • Complete reports as necessary 

  • Regular travel expectations between multiple sites and facilities

  • Other duties as assigned 


Requirements:

  • Knowledge of resources within the community and area of the hospital ED

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate across multiple levels of an organization and various types of clinical and non-clinical roles

  • Displays strong leadership skills and a dynamic personality

  • Ability to communicate with others in a positive manner and be a true team player

  • Displays a commitment to understanding the various pathways to recovery and the importance of shared lived experience

  • Strong relationships with substance use / mental health agencies and community partners

  • Proven self starter, team player, excellent communicator

  • Exemplifies strong work ethic and operates with the highest level of integrity

  • Detail oriented and efficient time management skills

  • Working knowledge of different pathways to recovery and social systems including evidence based practices

  • Understands problems analysis, decision-analysis, evaluate interventions, and contingency plans

  • Ability to be an active listener by asking questions and reflecting on what is being said

  • Proficient level of ability with computer; Microsoft Office Products

  • Effective written and oral communication skills; ability to articulate information clearly

  • Reliable transportation to and from work


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Identify as a person in recovery with at least two years of successful recovery

  • Certified Peer Supporter in the state of Ohio

  • State Certified Peer Support Supervision Certificate 


Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
