Role

The primary purpose of this Float Teller position is to assist Beacon Credit Union to live out of mission "Dedicated to Our Member's Financial Success" by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members.

A key component of this delivery is to identify the financial needs of each member and recommend an appropriate credit union solution. Process transactions and be an effective information source for our member/customers: in lobby, drive-thru window or by telephone, to accurately and efficiently assist with their requirements while assuring a positive experience for each customer/member and minimizing wait time. Be knowledgeable of all Beacon CU's products and services. Ensure Beacon's mission statement and service standards are met with every member every time. Meet and exceed the monthly sales and service goals.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Demonstrate efficiency with transactions and utilization of time in order to assist as many member/customers as possible without negatively impacting the quality of the transaction. Verbally confirm intended transactions with customer to assure needs are met and minimize redoing. Regularly balances cash drawer to assure accuracy in teller transactions and notifies supervisor immediately regarding any outages. Appropriately applying all Beacon policies and procedures.

Is knowledgeable and understands all of Beacon CU's products and services. Assessed by annual product knowledge certification. Offers/suggests appropriate product and services to our membership through internal and external communication. Apply the Mike Neill and Beacon principles such as our mission statement and service standards. Meets or exceeds the sales/referral expectations.

Meets or exceeds all external member service expectations per credit union service standards.

Meets or exceeds all internal service expectations per credit union service standards.

Create and maintain a clean, neat, pleasant work environment by maintaining a professional look (i.e. dress, posture, attitude, etc.), positive outlook and behavior toward customers/members and co-workers.

Assist other departments and branches with transactions as needed, provide support for the department and branch managers in fulfilling customer/member requests and merchant verifications.

Research, troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries.

Extensive travel to Beacon Credit Union branch network will be required. 

Follows all applicable regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act, Reg CC and Anti-money Laundering.

Deliver outstanding service to internal and external members in alignment with the credit union's service standards.


Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Cash handling experience preferred.  Sales experience preferred.  Customer service experience preferred.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

High School Diploma or GED Some college classes preferred. Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to assigned Beacon Credit Union branch. 

Interpersonal Skills

Great communication skills. Math skills a must. Team player
