Reporting to the Camp Management Superintendent, the Logistics Technician supports the Logistics Advisor in coordinating personnel arrivals and departures. They plan the day-to-day movements of employees and contractors, while working with various departments and other project stakeholders. They also perform the duties associated with the Reception Clerk position, including welcoming workers, managing arrival and departure lists, evacuation lists, key issuance/return, and basic accommodation coordination. Lastly, they ensure effective circulation of logistics information and the overall smooth running of camp operations.. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Northern Quebec region, he or she will be required to work on a 15-day work schedule followed by 13 days off. Transportation, accommodation, and meals provided.
Duties and responsibilities
• Support and assist the Logistics Advisor on a daily basis;
• Follow up with the direct supervisor regarding special situations related to logistics and camp operations;
• Welcome employees and visitors arriving on site and direct them to the relevant department;
• Issue and collect room keys for employees and visitors;
• Follow up on order receipts;
• Board passengers onto the bus;
• Handle phone calls;
• Follow up with workers housed in satellite camps (Barry, Laforêt);
• Enter daily occupancy data into the appropriate file;
• Produce the daily room housekeeping list (light cleaning, sheet changes, etc.);
• Produce daily evacuation lists for the camp(s);
• Respond to questions and requests from employees and visitors;
• Manage inventory and upkeep of the visitor PPE storage room;
• Manage inventory of stationery for the Windfall site;
• Maintain effective communication and good working relationships with employees, contractors, and suppliers;
• Ensure Gold Fields standards are met by the camp services contractor through weekly and monthly inspections, in collaboration with the Camp Management Superintendent;
• At all times, comply with health & safety and environmental policies and rules;
• Perform any other related task associated with the Reception Clerk position that is relevant to the success of the project.
Required qualifications
• Hold a diploma in administrative techniques or logistics, or have experience in dispatching or logistics; relevant experience will be considered;
• Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license
Technical skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.);
• Knowledge of the Nomadis booking software is an asset;
• Good knowledge of English.
