Reporting to the IT supervisor, the computer technician will serve all Windfall project facilities. He or she will act as an advisor and technical support and ensure the proper functioning of IT equipment. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region, he or she will be required to work a 15-day work schedule followed by 13 days off. Transportation, accommodation, and meals provided.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Comply with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and rules at all times;
•Have an understanding of ITIL principles
•Act as first and second level IT support for Microsoft business applications and operating systems;
•Provide support services for Microsoft-related technologies: Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Windows 10 and 11, etc.;
•Perform technical and support services at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security;
•Monitor alerts and notifications from the remote monitoring and management system and respond via the ticketing system;
•Install and configure IP telephony workstations;
•Be sensitive to IT controls related to SOX compliance;
•Communicate with customers, keep them informed of incident progress, and notify them of changes related to the IT system;
•Develop a spirit of collaboration and a willingness to learn and share knowledge;
•Perform any other tasks related to the position of computer technician that are relevant to the success of the project.
Qualifications
•College diploma in computer science;
•Five (5) years of experience in a similar position;
•Valid Class 5 driver's license;
•Bilingual (French and English) (an asset).
Technical skills
•Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing and network systems;
•Proficiency in the Microsoft environment (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, Azure, and M365);
•Knowledge of enterprise network management (DNS, DHCP, VoIP, firewalls, routing and switching, LAN and WAN);
•Knowledge of WiFi technology, access point deployment and administration;
•Knowledge of HyperV virtualization and backup and restore solutions;
•Experience with network/application monitoring and supervision tools;
•Knowledge of SAP Public Cloud edition (an asset).
Basic skills
