Reporting to the IT Supervisor, the IT Technician will serve all Windfall project facilities. He/she will act as a technical advisor and support, and ensure the proper operation of computer equipment.  Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region, he/she will be required to work a schedule of 15 working days followed by 13 days off. Transportation, lodging and meals provided.


Duties and responsibilities                

Comply at all times with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and regulations;

Act as 1er and 2èm level IT support involving Microsoft business applications and operating systems;

Provide support services for Microsoft-related technologies: Office 365, Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, Windows 10 and 11, etc;

Provide technical and support services for the network: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls and security;

Monitor alerts and notifications from the remote monitoring and management system, and respond via the ticketing system;

Installation and configuration of IP telephony stations.

Communicate with customers, updating them on the progress of the incident and notifying them of changes to the computer system;

Perform any other tasks related to the computer technician position that are relevant to the success of the project.

Develop a spirit of collaboration and willingness to learn and share knowledge.

Technical skills

Advanced understanding of operating systems, business applications, printing and network systems;

Microsoft environment (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Active Directory, GPO, Azure and M365).

Enterprise network management (DNS, DHCP, VoIP, firewall, routing and switching, LAN and WAN)

Knowledge of WIFI technology, deployment and administration of access points.

HyperV virtualization and backup and restore solutions.

Network/application monitoring and supervision tools 

STRENGTHS: Knowledge of SAP Public Cloud edition administration



Qualifications required

Diploma of Collegial Studies in Computer Science;

Five (5) years' experience in a similar position;

Valid class 5 driver's license;

Be bilingual (French and English), (an asset).
