Description 

Safety first - follow safe work methods and adherence to safety protocol, including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

  • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).

  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

  • Align components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces.

  • Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).

  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.

  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

  • Keep area and uniform clean.


Qualifications 

  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, MMA etc.).

  • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (gloves etc.) and must provide own welding helmet.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.

  • High School diploma or equivalent (or in High School Trade Program).

  • Desired 2 years of experience as a Welder, but will train.

  • Punctual, reliable and conscientious.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Ability to lift 25 lbs safely, walk and stand for long periods of time, bend and lift product as needed following safe work methods.
