Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Safety first - follow safe work methods and adherence to safety protocol, including personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Read prints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Fabricate / Fit to specifications and tolerances
- Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements).
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Align components using calipers, rulers and clamp pieces.
- Weld components using manual welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Keep area and uniform clean.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MIG, etc.).
- Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (gloves etc.) and must provide own welding hood.
- Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus.
- Desired 4 years of experience as a fabricator / welder, but will train.
- Must be a team player
- Punctual, reliable and conscientious.
- Willing and able to work full-time 8 hours shifts M-F. Offering a flex schedule during this time frame starting at 6am or 8am to 2:30pm or 4:30pm. Fridays company closes at 3pm.
