Academic Advising Program Coordinator / Advisor

Serving under the Director of Academic Advising, the AA Program Coordinator will support in all areas that fall within the Academic Advising program. Successful growth in this role will lead to increased student advising responsibilities over time.  


Key responsibilities include:

  • Program Coordination
    • Peer Tutoring Program
      • Collect and coordinate teacher nominations for peer tutors
      • Serve a liaison between teachers and peer tutors
      • Manage Peer Tutoring Center and 1:1 peer tutor assignments
      • Assess effectiveness and develop continual plans for improvement
    • Career Exploration Trip (CET) Program
      • Maintain relationships with existing CETs and develop new contacts at various organizations
      • Schedule and coordinate all aspects of CETs
      • Manage and track student participation and report metrics each year
  • Academic Advising Website Management & Communication 
    • Keep Academic Advising Website up to date with external opportunities, information and forms 
    • Coordinate relevant submissions to the LCA Link, our weekly online newsletter
  • Student Tracking of grades/academic progress; write and track Academic Intervention plans
  • Support in all aspects of Freshmen Orientation 
  • Team teach w/AA Director Freshmen Study Skills & Sophomore Workshop/YouScience 

QUALIFICATIONS: An applicant for this position must be a self-starter and team player who has experience working with teenagers and is comfortable communicating with parents.  An applicant must also be skilled at multitasking with efficient time management, managing multiple priorities, attention to detail & processes and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5+ years work experience outside of education, teaching and/or expertise in executive functioning coaching are a plus. Strong knowledge of Google Drive applications, computer skills and bachelor’s degree is required.

SALARY & BENEFITS: This is a full-time, 10-month position. Salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience and/or qualifications.
