Job Summary:
The Task Force General Manager will serve as an A&R Hospitality (ARH) leader, whose main function will be that of carrying out A&R’s values, while executing on established goals and written expectations. This individual will focus on embodying the company’s long-term mission of revenue generation, profit enhancement through training development, adhering, and advancing A&R’s accountability measures. The Task Force GM may need to shift focus from one property to the next at a moment’s notice. The Task Force GM must possess the ability to access the unique needs of each property and be able to rapidly provide immediate attention to the areas that will further A&R goals and expectations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
❑ Function as the primary strategic leader of the hotel with responsibility for all aspects of the operations, including but not limited to, guest and associate satisfaction, human resources, financial performance, sales and revenue generation.
❑ Develop timely and accurate assessments about the overall health of an assigned hotel. Use your assessment to drive strategies to optimize the operation.
❑ Develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with ARH’s hotel operating policies and procedures (Operations Manual).
❑ Motivate, coach and train team members at assigned property, set goals, and hold team members accountable, and provide appropriate feedback, rewards, and recognition.
❑ Ensure that brand standards are met with the goal of meeting or exceeding guest expectations; communicating follow-up actions to the team; and responding to guest inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
❑ Ensure development, implementation, and support successful attainment of assigned hotel’s annual Business Plan.
❑ Demonstrate a high level of integrity, take ownership of personal and team actions, communicate effectively, promote collaboration, nurture a positive, professional work environment, and ensure development of, and adherence to, ARH’s hotel operations policies, protocols, and Standard Operating Procedures.
❑ Ensure that all associate and business decisions are in line with A&R Hospitality’s culture, mission and values.
❑ Read and respond to all email correspondence in a timely manner.
❑ Conduct private personal meetings with each team member monthly to review team member goals, daily activities and performance outcomes.
❑ Facilitate and participate in monthly meetings with department leaders and corporate members to review operations outcomes, progress and accountability.
❑ Inspect assigned hotel for ARH and Brand Quality Assurance standards.
❑ Conduct regular and timely performance reviews of associates.
❑ Must be a fast learner with an inquisitive mind, as this individual may need to learn a new brand culture and tools and operating systems within a 2–4-week period
❑ Must be nimble, drop one project and pick up a new project prior to completion
Required Skills and Experience:
❑ Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field of study (preferred)
❑ Minimum of one to three years of experience as a General Manager in a branded Select Service Hotel.
❑ Must have the ability to travel for task-force assignments of varying duration at any moment.
❑ Must be willing to relocate to the Gulf Coast area (preferably in Alabama).
❑ Strong leadership skills.
