Systems Software Engineer - Clearance Required

Located in Howard County, Maryland, Nteligen engineers solutions to the challenges of information movement. We perform proactive cyber threat mitigation in everything we do. Nteligen is not afraid to solve challenging problems and is known to take on a wide breadth of different types of work, including software engineering, technical research, product assessment, security assessment, and cyber consulting.

This position will utilize a mix of skills that will require the systems engineer to understand an IT system's entire context and the associated IT risks and design solutions to the problems found. The systems engineer will help define, design, and develop solutions that enable intelligence and imagery data to be passed to processing systems. The successful candidate helps design a solution for the current legacy system and optimizes the solution to work in a hybrid environment. This position requires coding knowledge, but the day-to-day will be systems engineering focused. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Linux system security and have excellent writing skills.  

Hard Requirements

·        BS (or higher) in Computer Science, or a related field

·        5 years related experience

·        Strong experience with / understanding of software architecture

·        Experience in full systems lifecycle development

·        Compliance with DoD 8570 (Security+ at minimum)

·        Excellent writing and communication skills

·        Experience developing secure systems

• Excellent problem-solving skills, including working with customers to determine their needs 
• Must be a US Citizen 
• Must have an active Secret security clearance

·        Experience writing code in one or more of the following languages : C, C++, Java, Python, Go, and/or Rust

Preferred Requirements (but not required):

·        Active Top Secret security clearance

·        Experience in Cross Domain Solutions

·        Strong working knowledge in DOD areas such as command and control, intelligence, acquisition, data handling, space, cyber, or intelligence data handling

·        Experience in modern database systems (MySQL, NoSQL)

·        Experience with requirements analysis

·        Experience with Cloud environments (AWS preferred)
