Survey Department Manager

We are looking for a Survey Department Manager to join our Destin team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Oversee all aspects of the Survey Department, including personnel management, project proposals, and research for field and office work.
- Ensure the quality and timely completion of field and office work, reviewing and approving survey calculations, and stamping and sealing final drawings.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns, and consistently delivering exceptional service.
- Manage project and department budgets, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost-effective practices.
- Mentor and provide guidance to department personnel, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Stay current with industry trends, advancements in survey practices, and emerging technologies, implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with the business development team to identify and pursue new opportunities for the survey department.
- Maintain and archive survey records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for survey operations.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in the state of [LOCATION]
- 10+ years of experience in land surveying, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Familiarity with surveying software and technologies, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GPS equipment.
- Demonstrated comfort and proficiency in business development activities, including client management and relationship building.
- Strong ability to manage multiple objectives, clients, contractors, third parties, and internal team members effectively.
- Extensive knowledge and expertise in survey practices, equipment, and methodologies.
- Exceptional skills in determining project requirements, setting priorities, and managing resources.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet critical deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts and information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting and working at a desk.
- Ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
