Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, the General Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating preventive maintenance activities as well as general maintenance of mobile equipment used in mining operations and certain fixed equipment. The role includes coordinating daily maintenance activities as well as overseeing the operational planning of scheduled interventions over a three month horizon. The position operates on a 8 days on / 6 days off schedule and is based at the Windfall site, located in Northern Québec, approximately 115 km east of Lebel sur Quévillon.

Tasks and responsibilities                                        

•Supervise, coordinate, and prioritize all maintenance activities for surface and underground equipment; 

•Maintain an overall view of repairs, planned shutdowns, and critical work, arbitrating priorities based on operational impact; 

•Ensure optimal fleet availability while strictly adhering to maintenance budgets allocated by management; 

•Supervise, lead, and coach supervisory teams in the resolution of complex technical issues; 

•Evaluate equipment performance, recommend improvements, and approve major changes to maintenance programs; 

•Support three month maintenance planning based on operational needs, available workforce, and shutdown windows; 

•Ensure effective communication between Maintenance, Operations, Health & Safety, Planning, and suppliers; 

•Implement corrective actions, ensure compliance during audits, and promote a strong prevention culture; 

•Ensure effective communication between departments and equipment suppliers; 

•Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and all other applicable laws; 

•Meet corporate health and safety requirements and recommendations; 

•Perform any other related duties associated with the General Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor role that contribute to the success of the mining operation.


Required qualifications

•Hold an appropriate technical diploma or a DEP in Mechanics or Electromechanics, or possess relevant mechanical experience (5 to 10 years of experience); 

•Have experience supervising mobile equipment maintenance (minimum of 5 years of experience); 

•Hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence; 

•Hold a valid explosives permit; 

•Have successfully completed Mining Modules 1 2 3 4 5 and 7.


Technical skills

•Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications; 

•Demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement principles and project management; 

•Have knowledge of mining equipment technology; 

•Be able to apply maintenance and planning techniques; 

•Be proficient in the use of various maintenance related software (e.g., SAP); 

•Bilingualism (asset).
