Superintendent, Asphalt Plants
Dawson Construction is seeking an experienced and motivated Superintendent of Asphalt Plants to oversee the daily operations of our asphalt production facility.
In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Construction, working in a permanent, full-time position of Superintendent, Asphalt Plant. Reporting to the Manager, Equipment & Assets and a key member of the leadership team, this role is responsible for ensuring production efficiency, quality control, equipment maintenance, safety compliance, and team leadership. This role requires a strong understanding of asphalt production, plant operations, and team management.
Your base location will be Kamloops, B.C. and will require some travel throughout our great province.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Always prioritize safety of self and others.
- Oversee the daily operations of the asphalt plant, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality control.
- Supervise plant employees, assign tasks, and provide leadership and training.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
- Monitor and maintain plant equipment, scheduling regular maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate raw material deliveries, inventory management, and production schedules.
- Work closely with quality control teams to ensure asphalt meets required specifications and standards.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and implement improvements to optimize plant performance.
- Maintain accurate records of production, maintenance, safety inspections, and employee performance.
- Communicate with company leadership to report plant performance and identify areas for improvement
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum 5 (five) years of experience in asphalt plant operations or a related field.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of asphalt production processes, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to quality and efficiency.
- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations governing asphalt plant operations.
- Proficiency in using computer software for record-keeping and reporting.
