Summer STEM Specialist
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The STEM Specialist develops age-appropriate science, technology, and STEM curriculum in alignment with Stars selected Social Emotional Learning skills as well as targeted academic outcomes whenever appropriate.
* This is a seasonal program. The program operates from July 7, 2025 to August 22, 2025.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum:
· Submit activity calendar outlining 2 activities per week for each of the 5 summer sites.
· Develop lesson plans with specifically outlined strategies to support SEL target outcomes for review by academic coordinator.
· Create an inventory supply list.
· Facilitate 5-6 activity periods per day, enlisting the assistance of table counselors.
· All other assigned duties.
QUALIFICATIONS
· At least 1 year experience working in a camp or out of school time program.
· First Aid and CPR certified preferred
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Experience working with people of different ages and backgrounds.
Reports to: Director of School Age Programs
* All South Shore Stars employees should be able to lift at least 40 lbs and work in a non-sedentary environment.
