JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Support the Department of Public Works complete seasonal operation and maintenance work.
Essential Functions
This position is required to:
•Perform all tasks assigned including, but not limited to, park and field mowing, string trimming, landscaping, leaf collection, and debris clean up.
•Perform laborer’s duties to complete all tasks assigned.
•Operate safely any vehicles or equipment assigned under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, and the immediate supervision of the Division Superintendent.
•Report any problem encountered while operating any Town vehicle or equipment.
•Perform all additional work as assigned.

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
Frequent strenuous physical effort required including ability to lift and carry on a frequent and continuous basis objects weighing fifty to one hundred pounds. Required to bend, kneel, reach, and squat through the work shift. Frequent movements in and out of equipment and vehicles. Must have the ability to use and wear personal protective equipment and clothing such as hearing protection, eye protection, foot, and hand protection.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Must be able to work weekdays between 7:00AM and 3:30PM. This is a seasonal position.
Travel
Travel is required between various Town facilities and buildings throughout the shift.
Required Education and Experience
•Possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
•Background in use of light equipment operation preferred.
•Must be able to pass Drug and Alcohol Screening.
Work Authorization
Provide appropriate documentation to verify your authorization to work in the United States.
