Summer Camp Counselor - Early Childhood
St. Martin’s Episcopal School is recruiting camp counselors to work for our George Cottage Summer Camp 2024 season. The George Cottage Summer Camp Counselor must be available from June 3, 2024 - August 2, 2022. There will also be training on June 1st before the start of camp on June 3. Meals are provided to camp counselors at no extra cost to counselors.
First and foremost, counselors are responsible for the safety and well-being of all campers. At all times, a Counselor should present themselves as positive role models and be enthusiastic. Counselors are expected to maintain open lines of communication with the Director(s) and to work cooperatively with other counselors. Being a camp counselor is one of the most rewarding jobs you can ever have. We are looking for people to join our dedicated team. Our people are our lifeblood and go everywhere with our campers.
You will report to the Summer Camp Director(s) and tend to campers that range from 8 weeks of age - 4 years old. You will have daily interactions with other counselors, campers, parents/caregivers of campers, and all StM staff that work on campus during the summer.
Regular Camp hours of operation for the children are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Job Description:
- Be available during the entire camp day 7:30 am - 3:30 pm
- Model good sportsmanship during all activities
- Teach all skills through participating or by working with small groups
- Supervise morning drop-off and afternoon dismissal
- Maintain discipline during each activity and lead the group between activities in an orderly manner
- Follow and administer StM George Cottage Camp policy
- Keep accurate attendance records each morning
- Supervise lunch by remaining with your group at all times
- Attend counselor meetings as scheduled
- Attend MANDATORY counselor training
Qualifications:
- 17 years or older of age - mandatory per Louisiana State Licensing requirements
- Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification (Preferred)
