Summer Camp Counselor

As a Camp Counselor, you will be an active participant in all camp activities and will assist your Camp Director with a variety of daily tasks, all with the goal of creating a memorable and meaningful camp experience for your campers. Our Counselors interact with our campers throughout the entire day, helping them make friends, try new things, and generally caring for their well-being. The role of a Counselor is to participate, build relationships and have fun while ensuring the physical and emotional safety of every child.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and excited camp experience.
•  Greet families and campers upon arrival
• Participate in all camp activities
• Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
• Support Camp Director in establishing rules and emergency procedures with campers
• Supervise daily swim time in a hands-on manner from within the water (lifeguard certification not required)
• Help out where needed and lead activities when asked
• Complete other duties, as assigned 
  
• Following the schedule and guidelines given by your lead counselor.
• Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers safety and their whereabouts at all times.
•  If applicable, maintain constant surveillance of the pool area/body of water, know/review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately.

 Requirements:

• Must be 15 years or older
• Must be available to work the full 8 weeks of summer camp, Monday- Friday.
•  Must have education classes or experience in camp, youth programs, recreation, or working with children.
•  First aid and CPR certified.
• Ability to work with children to grow in character, experiences and insights
• Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers at all times
• Enthusiastic, Responsible, Dependable, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations
• Ability to work as a member of a team and the ability to accomplish tasks with out constant direction.
