2025 Summer Camp Floating Camp Counselor & Behavior Support Specialist
Position Summary: We are looking for a floating Camp Counselor/ Behavior Specialist to join our team this summer! Are you an enthusiastic and friendly person that loves working with diverse groups of young people in a natural outdoor setting? Our Floating Camp Counselor/Behavior Support Specialist is a unique position that mainly supports our group Counselors and Specialists, as needed, with a variety of tasks. Some of the main tasks will include facilitating to & supervising campers that may have challenges & can vary depending upon camper, day and week. While this position will be directed by our camp leadership team, a proactive and flexible mindset is important. As the leader for a group of campers, you'll guide them through a series of daily activities, cultivating values such as cooperation, respect, and community. Prior experience is not required; our comprehensive training program ensures you're well-prepared for this fulfilling role. Previous camp experience preferred, but not required for this position.
We will train, but MUST be available for the following Training Dates:

Team Building Training: May 5th to May 9th
Camp Staff Training: June 9th to June 13th
Position Type: Seasonal/Full-Time (Monday - Friday)
Season: June 16th-Augst 8th
Training: June 9th - 13th
Compensation: $10.70/hour during training weeks (June 9th-13th) then $15/hour during the camp season (June 16th-August 8th)
Essential Job Functions:
- Supervise a group of 10-15 children between the ages of 6-15 while serving as their role model and primary caregiver Monday-Friday during camp hours of 9am-3pm.
- Prepare, conduct, and adapt camp activities from provided activity plans according to weekly themes.
- Engage campers with a fun, welcoming, and safe atmosphere for exploration, learning, and play.
- Guide your campers through various activity areas, ensuring a safe and timely transition.
- Provide the daily care of each camper in your assigned group including assisting with personal health needs and assist with personal/health/behavioral concerns.
- Actively participate in the daily opening and closing of camp during the season including cleanup of facilities and preparation of program areas.
- Follow and uphold all safety and security rules, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must successfully pass the FBI/BCI Background Check.
- Must successfully complete Summer Camps Training
- Must successfully complete Team Building Training
- Previous day camp experience preferred but not required
