Summer Assistant Group Lead
Assist in all aspects of the operation of the Center. This is a 7-week summer position.
Responsibilities
· Participate in planning and implementing program goals and objectives.
· Develop strong positive relationships with each child.
· Help plan and supervise daily activities, special projects, and field trips.
· Work directly with children individually and in groups.
· Assist in maintaining behavioral limits and classroom order.
· Assist in food preparation.
· Assist in keeping Center clean and organized.
· Greet parents and share children’s interests and activities, refer parent concerns to Center Director.
· Attend and participate in staff meetings and appropriate training.
· All other assigned duties.
Qualifications
· Currently attending high school, must be at least 16 years old.
· Experience working with children in formal and informal settings.
· Willing to work a flexible schedule including full days during school vacations.
· High energy, warm and nurturing personality.
· Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Reports to: Center Director
* All South Shore Stars employees should be able to lift at least 40 lbs. and work in a non-sedentary environment.
