The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a youth residential treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescents in need.  Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes.  The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing.  Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.

 About the Position

The Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) Clinical Supervisor is a leadership role within The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supporting, mentoring, and supervising a multidisciplinary team of clinical staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. This position oversees clinical functions including assessments, individualized treatment planning, progress monitoring, discharge planning, and coordination of continuing care. The Clinical Supervisor ensures that all clinical services align with agency standards, state and federal regulations, and accreditation requirements (e.g., WAC, ASAM, and IHS guidelines).

Working closely with the Behavioral Health Director, this role also contributes to program development, process improvement, and the professional growth of clinical staff. The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated leadership, a commitment to excellence, and a deep understanding of adolescent behavioral health and substance use treatment in a residential setting. A passion for culturally grounded care, team collaboration, and continuous quality improvement is essential.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.  Must be able to read, write, and understand English.

 ·         Be knowledgeable about ASAM criteria and co-occurring disorders to distinguish care between substance use and mental health disorder, supporting the integrated behavioral health services

·         Ensures that files are presented in an organized and efficient manner and all relevant assessment data is integrated into the treatment planning for each patient including information from family, community, and referral sources.

·         Reviews the counselor’s case presentation and provides regular guidance on working with the patient.  Mentors and coaches counseling staff as needed.

·         Plan and facilitate regularly scheduled clinical supervision meetings.

·         Guides and mentors’ clinical staff in fulfillment of WAC, medical billing and accreditation standards and organization policies and procedures.  Reports violations or concerns to Behavioral Health Director.

·         Ensure clinical and patient records are properly maintained, complete and up to date, and reflect quality patient care.

·         Performs a semi-annual review of a sample of the clinical records kept by each SUDP(T).

·         Ensures the aftercare planning and placement process begins at admission and discussed with clinical staffing.

·         Performs individual and/or group counseling sessions when regular counseling staff are not available.

·         Establishes and maintains quality liaisons with agencies, community groups, and other resources that may be referred to patients.

·         Works very closely and collaborates with BIS Program to ensure daily operational processes and procedures are followed and are in the best interest of the residents.

·         Attend group therapy and individual sessions periodically to provide feedback to clinicians and assess effectiveness of curricula, approach and program materials.

·         Be available for the after-hours on-call support on a rotating basis.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

The Clinical Supervisor plays a key leadership role in supporting and advancing the organization’s mission by overseeing the day-to-day operations of clinical staff in alignment with organizational policies and applicable laws. Core responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring staff; planning and delegating workload; monitoring and evaluating performance; monitoring compliance and effectively managing employee relations, including recognition, coaching, and conflict resolution.

Education and/or Experience:

Minimum qualifications include an Associate's Degree in Chemical Dependency/Addiction Studies from an accredited institution. A bachelor’s degree in behavioral health related field is preferred, especially with coursework or certification in co-occurring disorders. A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a closely related discipline is highly preferred, with licensure as an MSW, LCSW, LMHP, LPC, or LMFT being advantageous.

Candidates must have a minimum of five years of licensed experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment, and supervisory experience. Preferred experience includes work in inpatient or residential treatment settings with adolescents and populations experiencing co-occurring disorders.

A strong working knowledge of Washington Administrative Code (WAC), American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, and evidence-based practices is essential. Familiarity with state, federal, and Indian Health Service (IHS) licensing, certification, and accreditation requirements is strongly preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

·         Must hold a current and active Washington State Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) license.

·         Must possess and maintain Clinical Supervisor certification as required by Washington State Department of Health.

·         A valid Washington State Driver’s License is required, with the ability to travel frequently and operate agency vehicles.

·         Preferred licensure includes MSW, LCSW, LMHP, LPC, LMFT, or other advanced behavioral health credentials.

 Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic computer skills, including working knowledge in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.   Must be knowledgeable in an EHR system.
