Substance Use Disorder Evaluator - Part Time
Job Summary:
The Substance Use Disorder Evaluator for Open Access Clinic is responsible for providing crisis intervention, initial assessments/evaluation, and counseling to people seeking substance abuse treatment and/or mental health treatment. This process begins at intake/evaluation and continues through referral and follow-up care. They will work as part of a service team with other evaluators/counseling staff, peer advocates, medical department and community agencies. This position reports to the Clinical Supervisor.
Salary
$25-$26.50/hour depending on experience
Special Requirements:
Weekday daytime and/or evening hours – part-time (should not exceed 21 hours/week)
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine individual needs
- Facilitate referrals to appropriate level of care
- May act as liaison for individual to navigate insurance barriers
- Support connection to case management and follow-up
- Develop individualized treatment/service plans addressing treatment needs including appropriate support services
- Ensure all documentation regarding assessment, referrals and treatment is completed timely and in a clear concise manner
- Participate in supervision with Clinical Supervisor and Program Director
- Attend training and workshops to keep abreast of current substance use trends, techniques and for skill development
- Maintain client confidentiality in accordance to Federal Law
- Responsible for maintaining an organized and sanitary work environment.
- Maintain active professional licensure and certifications by ensuring timely renewals and completing any required continuing education or training. Keep up-to-date with credentialing requirements and ensure all documentation is current and compliant with organizational and regulatory standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
No supervisor duties – at times may be clinical lead on shift
Minimum Qualification Standards:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field
- Qualified Healthcare Professional (QHP) -or- CASAC/CASAC-T with a minimum of two years of experience in counseling or substance use disorder treatment setting.
- Ability to utilize a computer
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Able to successfully engage clients, including those who may have serious, persistent mental health issues and criminal justice history
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and document simultaneously
- Strong written and oral communication skills to interact with clients
- Familiarity with resources in the community that meet a wide variety of client needs
- Comfortable working independently while also a strong team player
- Demonstrates cultural humility
- Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record. The position may require occasional driving for meetings, appointments, or representing Delphi Rise in the community
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
This position requires the regular use of a computer/iPad, printer, photocopier, fax machine, telephone, scanner.
Computer Software: Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, and utilize electronic health record.
Mental and Visual Demand:
Moderate mental and visual attention to perform light administrative work, data entry and/or reading. Requires some judgment in the analysis of facts or conditions regarding individual problems or transactions to determine what action should be taken, within the specifications of standard practice.
Physical Demand:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, perform repetitive hand motion, push, pull.
