Job Summary:
The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) Facilitator at Pathways to Life, Inc. is responsible for delivering structured substance use treatment services in an in-office setting. This role focuses on education, support, and therapeutic intervention for individuals dealing with substance use disorders. The SAIOP Facilitator works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support clients on their journey to recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Treatment Planning
- Conduct comprehensive in-office assessments to determine clients' substance use history, clinical needs, and recovery goals.
- Develop and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
Group Counseling and Education
- Facilitate structured, evidence-based SAIOP group sessions focusing on addiction education, coping strategies, relapse prevention, and recovery skills.
- Deliver psychoeducation related to substance use, mental health, and wellness.
Individual Counseling
- Provide one-on-one counseling to address personal challenges, enhance motivation, and support progress in recovery.
- Tailor interventions to align with each client’s treatment plan and goals.
Crisis Intervention
- Identify and respond promptly to crises as they arise in the office setting.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and follow internal protocols to ensure client and staff safety.
Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and confidential clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
- Prepare reports as needed for audits, billing, or case reviews.
Team Collaboration and Referrals
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case consultations.
- Coordinate referrals to internal and external support services, including medical care, housing, employment, and peer support.
Professional Development
- Engage in ongoing training and continuing education relevant to addiction treatment and co-occurring disorders.
- Stay current with industry best practices and changes in policy and regulation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- Active credential or licensure in accordance with state guidelines (e.g., LCAS, LCAS-A, CADC).
- Demonstrated understanding of addiction, recovery processes, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong group facilitation skills and the ability to create a safe, therapeutic group environment.
- Skilled in crisis response and intervention, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team-based model in an office setting.
- Knowledge of documentation standards and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2).
- Cultural humility and a non-judgmental, person-centered approach to care.
