Studio Control Room Tech
The Studio Control Room Tech (CRT) is primarily responsible for filming and directing premium, world class content for Echelon’s Connect, Row, Reflect, Stride, and FitPass classes. The CRT has a deep understanding and passion for live production and live streaming. S/he is detail oriented and strives for perfection. The CRT is also a technical resource to the rest of the team and assists with problem-solving initiatives. S/he is up to date on production hardware, software and broadcast technology, generally. A CRT is expected to work 5 shifts per week, one shift per day. Shifts are typically either morning-to-afternoon, or afternoon-to-evening.
Specifically, CRT responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Open / close the studio as needed (shift-driven)
- Direct classes - be an expert in the control room
- Troubleshoot and help solve software and hardware problems that occur during live and pre-tape production(s)
- Upload classes to the On Demand platform
- QA his / her own camera work and Instructor performances with the team
- QA his / her own Admin inputs and class uploads for accuracy
- Help maintain all hardware and software updates (including cameras, lights, etc)
- Help maintain the integrity of the picture (color temp, shutter, iris, framing, etc)
- Co-manage all media and data storage processes
- Perform ad hoc edits in Premiere
- Record and help manage all trackers
- Assist with various company-wide video initiatives (Special programming)
- Release classes through the Admin tool / Cloud trimming tool and confirm successful publishing to all streaming devices
Technical skills / requirements include the ability to become familiar with and operate:
- PTZ Optics 1080 Streaming Cameras - POE SDI
- 4K Panasonic / POE Powered - SDI 12G
- Livestream HD51 Computer
- HD51 4K
- Huddlecam Controller
- A basic understanding of LiveStream networks
- Windows / iOS
- Google Sheets / Docs (Word and Excel a plus)
