Stock Steward
HOURS: a. Full Time– 37 hours average work week, may vary in busy and slow seasons
b. 5-6 days per week
c. Working shifts –A combination of shifts between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 pm. ( Some variations may occur for special events.)
d. This person is expected to work primarily weekdays. However, availability for weekends and holidays is required.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for correctly receiving and properly storing food and merchandise upon delivery; maintains par levels of stock in all kitchen areas; properly rotates food into inventory; verifies accuracy of deliveries against invoices and quality specifications; spot checks temperature of perishable food upon delivery; maintains clean and organized storage areas, walk-ins and dock area in accordance to the local health department guidelines; assists with the physical inventories of products and supplies; creates and places food and sundry orders with vendors as directed; assists with daily stock pulls for the kitchen; light prep; assists with completion of the cleaning checklist as well as other duties of a dish worker as assigned or needed. Helps with setup of banquet and buffet spaces where required
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years old or older. Must be available full time, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Ability to stand at all times. Has the ability to lift items for the majority of the day and up to 50 pounds at one time. Has knowledge of food service sanitation as it relates to receiving, storage and producing food items.
Ability to work in hot and cold conditions both consistently and rotationally. Can read and comprehend receiving and packing slips to verify accuracy. Has good math skills and knows units of measurements to verify accuracy of orders.
Ability to explain and communicate specification standards to purveyors. Must possess a high degree of cleanliness.
Should possess good communication and organizational skills.
