Reports To: Stepping Stones Manager

Responsibilities: To assist and supervise clients utilizing the Shelter positively and respectfully. This is an important role within our organization as you will be part of a frontline team of staff, working with our city’s most vulnerable population. It is also a “stepping stone” opportunity for diligent employees to advance to permanent careers at the YWCA Prince Albert.

Qualifications: 

• Experience working with at-risk individuals;
• Security Experience is an asset;
• Must be reliable and willing to learn;
• CPR/First Aid certified/willing to be trained;
• Must pass YWCA Security Screening (CPIC & Vulnerable Sector Check);
• Able to work independently with little supervision;
• Must have a Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License; those without a class 5 drivers license need not apply.

Remuneration: $22.62 per hour.

Duties:

• Intake of Individuals accessing shelter;
• Supervision of Clients in the Shelter Area;
• Attending to crises as they arise;
• Ensuring the safety of clients, contacting police or ambulance as necessary; 
• Providing information on available services in the community;
• Light meal preparation;
• Reporting as required;
• Providing feedback to management on shelter operation;
• Follow established policies and procedures of Stepping Stones Shelter;
• Follow YWCA Policies and Safety Procedures;
• Maintain confidentiality;
• Cleaning Duties as required;
• All other duties as requested;

Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.
