Responsibilities: To assist and supervise clients utilizing the Shelter positively and respectfully. This is an important role within our organization as you will be part of a frontline team of staff, working with our city’s most vulnerable population. It is also a “stepping stone” opportunity for diligent employees to advance to permanent careers at the YWCA Prince Albert.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with at-risk individuals;
- Security Experience is an asset;
- Must be reliable and willing to learn;
- CPR/First Aid certified/willing to be trained;
- Must pass YWCA Security Screening (CPIC & Vulnerable Sector Check);
- Able to work independently with little supervision;
- Must have a Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License; those without a class 5 drivers license need not apply.
Remuneration: $22.62 per hour.
Duties:
- Intake of Individuals accessing shelter;
- Supervision of Clients in the Shelter Area;
- Attending to crises as they arise;
- Ensuring the safety of clients, contacting police or ambulance as necessary;
- Providing information on available services in the community;
- Light meal preparation;
- Reporting as required;
- Providing feedback to management on shelter operation;
- Follow established policies and procedures of Stepping Stones Shelter;
- Follow YWCA Policies and Safety Procedures;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Cleaning Duties as required;
- All other duties as requested;
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.
