POSITION SUMMARY:
The Steel Truss Team Lead will be responsible for daily fabrication operations, leading a team to produce roof-style trusses according to design specifications, and ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on role where work is conducted alongside a small team of operators, helping keep production on track and ensuring quality and safety is always kept in mind.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Production Planning and Execution
· Help assign daily tasks, keep production moving, and ensure quality checks are followed.
· Interpret engineered drawings and shop drawings to ensure accurate truss assembly, including, cutting, jig setup, and pressing.
· Assist in raw material inventory management by creating cyclic inventories.
· Odoo Workflow Coordination: Monitor the flow of work, assign tasks to employees, and ensure efficient utilization of resources.
· Operate and assist with equipment such as welders, forklift, and bandsaw.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
· Step in wherever needed-this is a hands-on role with leadership responsibility.
2. Personnel Management
· Work with a small group of team members in the steel truss manufacturing area.
· Support training of new team members in assembly techniques and safety practices.
3. Quality Control and Safety
· Quality Standards: Ensuring that products meet established quality standards and specifications.
· Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety regulations, promoting strict safe work practices, and maintaining a safe working environment.
· Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that machinery and equipment are in good working order and scheduling maintenance as needed.
4. Continuous Improvement
· Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve production processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
· Problem Solving: Addressing production issues, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and communicating any issues or delays to the Planner or Supervisor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· 3+ years of experience in truss manufacturing or metal fabrication.
· Proven experience in a manufacturing supervisory role, with a strong understanding of production processes and techniques.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures, with a commitment to creating a safe work environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and manufacturing software systems.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Ability to work in varying temperatures.
· Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
SCHEDULE:
· 10-hour shift
· Days
· Monday to Friday
