Reports To: Regional Operations Manager
Locations: Hiring for roles in Northern Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia
Salary: $60,000- $70,000
This posting is for new vacancies across the organization as we expand with new stations. Some vacancies are an immediate need, while others may be placed into a job pool for vacancies 3-6 months into the future.
Some travel will be necessary to complete training & development prior to a new station opening.
Role Summary
The Retail Station Manager oversees all operational, financial, safety, and people‑leadership functions at remote retail fuel and convenience stations. This role is critical in maintaining high operational standards, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and delivering exceptional customer service in geographically isolated locations.
The Station Manager serves as the on‑site leader responsible for staffing, inventory management, cash controls, facility maintenance, and community engagement. This role is designed to align with the Manager Development Program (MDP), ensuring consistent capability growth, leadership development, and operational excellence across all stations.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily station operations, including fuel, retail, and service offerings.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, SOPs, and MDP expectations.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and oversee ordering, receiving, and reconciliation.
- Monitor and manage cash handling, deposits, and financial controls.
- Update card lock pricing when required.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and maintain documentation for audits.
- Ensure compliance with provincial regulations and corporate safety standards.
- Lead incident reporting, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
People Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise station staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support capability development aligned with the MDP.
- Build a positive, inclusive, and high‑performance team culture.
- Manage scheduling, payroll inputs, and attendance tracking.
Customer Experience
- Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve escalated concerns.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and well‑organized station environment.
- Build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders.
Facility & Asset Management
- Oversee maintenance, repairs, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure fuel systems, pumps, and equipment meet operational and safety standards.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly facility inspections.
Financial & Performance Management
- Monitor station KPIs, including sales, margins, shrink, and labor costs.
- Prepare weekly and monthly operational reports.
- Implement strategies to improve station performance and profitability.

Qualifications
Education & Credentials
- College or university degree preferred.
- Safety certifications (WHMIS, First Aid) considered an asset.
Experience
- 2+ years of retail or fuel station management experience.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales and operational targets.
- Confident in managing employee relations, performance, and day-to-day staffing challenges.
- Experience with inventory management, cash handling, and financial reporting.
- Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Proficiency with POS systems (Bulloch) and basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, reporting tools).
