Staff Physical Therapy Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join
our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing patients' needs
and developing personalized treatment plans to help them achieve their
rehabilitation goals. This role requires a strong understanding of various
therapeutic techniques and the ability to work with diverse populations,
including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities. The
Physical Therapy Assistant will collaborate with healthcare professionals to
ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized treatment plans, based on patients' needs, and goals focusing on improving patients functional outcomes and provide hands-on therapy to promote healing and recovery
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other interventions
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans, in collaboration with the physical therapist, as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and physical therapy techniques in patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective discharge planning and case management.
- Provide therapy in an outpatient clinic setting to various populations including pediatrics, adults and geriatrics
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic practices and home exercises to support ongoing recovery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Min Associate of Applied Science Physical Therapist Assistant Degree from an accredited program
- Valid Geogia state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and evidenced based practice
- Knowledge of physical therapy practices relevant to various populations.
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies for pediatric patients.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and patient education
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
