Cook Hospital is seeking a Casual Staff Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team
The staff pharmacist is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the department to include planning, purchasing, organizing, coordination and follow-up of residents/patients and communicating information appropriately to health care professionals.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an American accredited college of pharmacy (AACP)
Licensure: Current Minnesota Pharmacist license
Experience: Two –five years experience in a long-term care and/or hospital pharmacy preferred. Knowledgeable in federal and state regulations governing hospital pharmacy and nursing homes. Inventory control and personnel management.
Essential Functions:
· Responsible for the day-to day functions within the Pharmacy department.
· Assist with implementation of established policies and procedures, updating as necessary and introducing new policies for current practices.
· Assist with the development and implement quality improvement activities to monitor all aspects of Pharmacy services. Maintains QA records of all pertinent information required within the Pharmacy.
· Identify and provide educational programs for Nursing and Pharmacy.
· Actively participate in hospital mandatory education programs/in-services.
· Participate in all meetings/committees pertinent to pharmacy services, as well as, those required by administration.
· Promote and maintain positive relations with area hospitals and the local community.
· Works with patient charts and health information records, abiding by all confidentiality requirements.
· Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment in the department for patients, medical staff, visitors and employees.
· Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and publications to keep current on trends and procedures affecting Activities.
· Utilize computers, email and software including, but not limited to, Word, Excel and Power Point.
· Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with facility wide and departmental policies and procedures.
· Actively participate in Cook Hospital and C&NC Unit Compliance Program and demonstrates compliance with required laws and regulations and ensures departmental compliance with regulatory requirements.
· Meets attendance policy requirements.
· Exercise independent judgment and discretion when carrying out the essential functions of this position.
