Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

Location: New Jersey

Job Summary:

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for the safe and effective dispensing of prescription medications, counseling patients on proper medication use, and ensuring compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations. The pharmacist collaborates with healthcare providers and supervises pharmacy technicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Medication Dispensing: Accurately prepare, verify, and dispense prescription medications.

• Patient Counseling: Provide guidance on medication usage, potential side effects, and interactions.

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to New Jersey Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA guidelines, and federal laws.

• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order medications, and prevent shortages or excess inventory.

• Collaboration: Work with healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans.

• Supervision: Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring accurate medication preparation and dispensing.

• Safety & Quality Control: Implement and follow safety protocols to prevent medication errors.

• Insurance & Billing: Assist in processing insurance claims and resolving coverage issues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program.

• Licensure: Active and unrestricted New Jersey pharmacist license.

• Experience: Previous retail, hospital, or clinical pharmacy experience preferred.

• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and proficiency in pharmacy software systems.

- Speaking Spanish or Portuguese is preferred. 

Work Environment:

• May work in retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings.

• Requires standing for extended periods and handling medications.

• May involve evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.
