Job Overview

With a focus on our patients’ health, the Solution Center Pharmacist at Sweetgrass Pharmacy and Compounding is responsible for a wide variety of areas that includes staff management and training in the Solution Center which consists of our data entry pharmacy technicians.  The ideal candidate will truly want to make a difference in the lives of our patients in the Mount Pleasant, SC community.  We are looking for full-time candidates with flexible scheduling and ability to work a rotation on Saturdays from 9am to 2pm.  This role is based at our Carolina Park location with the opportunity to work at our Seaside Farms location as well.

Compensation based upon experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Retail

  • Provide exceptional patient care through medication counseling and personalized healthcare advice through in-person interactions, over the phone or text messaging.
  • Develop data entry pharmacy technicians to be able to handle high volume while accurately entering in patient's medications or compounds.
  • Work with Chief Compounding Officer on any updates from the laboratory on formula changes and communicate with the team.
  • Pre-check scripts prior to lab or retail production.
  • Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring all prescriptions meet legal and professional standards.
  • Manage and oversee daily pharmacy operations, including inventory control, prescription processing, and staff supervision/delegation of responsibilities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and the local community.
  • Conduct medication therapy management (MTM) and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medications, potential side effects, and lifestyle modifications for better health.
  • Administer vaccines to patients.
  • Enter prescriptions in Pioneer’s priority queue.
  • Place drug orders and count narcotics. 
  • Perform order entry, communicate with providers for the purpose of receiving new prescription orders, clarification of prescriptions or refill authorizations, perform final check on prescriptions, counsel patients and answer questions from patients and providers.

Other Duties As Assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution, or Registered Pharmacist (RPh)
  • Active Pharmacist license in South Carolina
  • Experience in independent or community setting preferred
  • Compounding experience preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to ensure accuracy of entering patient information
  • Stay current with industry trends, new medications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Pleasant demeanor and ability to handle a variety of customer service issues.
  • Must be collaborative and able to perform as part of a team.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform simple math.
  • Pharmacy Software – Pioneer a plus
  • Ability to learn new software and programs
  • Ability to be coached
