Staff Occupational Therapist
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our
team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing patients' needs and
developing personalized treatment plans to help them achieve their
rehabilitation goals. This role requires a strong understanding of various
therapeutic techniques and the ability to work with diverse populations,
including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities. The
Occupational Therapist will collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure
comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, based on patients' needs, and goals focusing on improving patients' ability to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and restoring function.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Utilize knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational therapy techniques in patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for effective discharge planning and case management.
- Provide therapy in an outpatient clinic setting to various populations including pediatrics, adults and geriatrics
- Work with patients with autism and other developmental disabilities to enhance their functional abilities.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic practices and home exercises to support ongoing recovery.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Valid Geogia state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, medical terminology and evidenced based practice
- Knowledge of occupational therapy practices relevant to various populations.
- Familiarity with early intervention strategies for pediatric patients.
