Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Development Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality resident care, support the nursing staff, and ensure that residents receive the best possible treatment in a variety of settings, including long term care, sub-acute care, and memory care. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to resident-centered care.
Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to:
Assist in obtaining all necessary mandatory education related to fire safety, infection control, resident rights, hazard communication, safety issues, dementia training and policy and procedure are up to date.
Assist in tracking staff education & development and on-going clinical competencies.
Assist with tracking & administration of staff and resident immunizations.
Assists Director of Nursing as needed.
Maintain logs of COVID-19 related tracking items and reporting.
Manage information flow and communications between departments.
Additional duties as necessary
Document residents information accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive resident care in our facilities.
Skills
Current CNA in Massachusetts.
Extreme organizational skills and follow through.
Solid working knowledge of Word, Excel and other software programs
Strong understanding of resident care principles and practices.
Ability to provide compassionate support in hospice care settings.
Proficient in lifting techniques to ensure the safety of both patients and staff.
Familiarity with Skilled Nursing, Sub-acute, and Memory Care and the specific needs of residents.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain resident confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations during an emergency.
Excellent communication skills to interact with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
This Nursing Assistant role is essential for ensuring that residents receive the highest standard of care while promoting their dignity and comfort throughout their healthcare journey.
