Position Overview:

St. Mary's Nativity School is seeking a warm, dedicated, and enthusiastic Pre-K 4 teacher to join our faculty. This individual will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our beautiful four-year-old students. The ideal candidate will be a practicing Catholic with a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to the mission and values of St. Mary's Nativity School.


Responsibilities:

● Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and the individual needs of young learners.

● Create a positive, safe, and Christ-centered classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and social-emotional growth.

● Foster a love of learning through hands-on activities, play-based learning, and interactive experiences.

● Assess student progress regularly and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and achievements.

● Integrate Catholic faith and values into daily activities and lessons.

● Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and administration.

● Maintain a well-organized and stimulating classroom space.

● Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

● Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities as required.

● Uphold the policies and procedures of St. Mary's Nativity School and the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.

● Instill in students the foundational skills necessary for future academic success, including literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving.

● Promote the development of social skills, cooperation, and respect among students.


Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

● Valid Louisiana teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Early Childhood Education.

● Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.

● Demonstrated experience working with preschool-aged children.

● Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.

● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

● Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

● A genuine love for young children and a commitment to their holistic development.

● Proficiency in using technology to enhance instruction and communication is a plus.
