ZELUS is looking for exceptional BIM Managers, VDC Managers, Senior Detailers, BIM Leads, BIM Coordinators, VDC Engineers and similar roles to join our team as Assistant Project Managers!

What You Will Do:

  • Engage with internal project teams to support the creation/maintenance/health of BIM Models
  • Oversee and/or Lead in the coordination of models both internally and externally
  • Work with external stakeholders such as Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, or Trade Contractors on a range of projects
  • Work with Project Managers and Virtual Construction Specialists per project
  • Support the project team with technical delivery using various software listed below
  • Report progress throughout the project lifecycle
  • Read and interpret construction documentation for one or more disciplines
  • Establish, implement, and maintain quality control procedures
  • Participate in internal/external meetings
  • Confer with Project Manager to provide input for coordination schedules.  Help maintain and track delays that would affect the coordination process
  • Maintain positive and effective working relationships for both internal and external teams
  • Ensure BIM standards are upheld
  • Maintain familiarity with currently accepted standards and methods for construction in the building industry
  • Train and mentor project team members on applicable BIM processes and BIM software if, and when necessary
  • Facilitate use of composite trade models in clash detection/coordination meetings and provide detailed BIM Track issues
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager

What We Look For:

  • Vocational/technical or equivalent background in any of the following disciplines:  Mechanical HVAC, Mechanical Piping, Process Piping, Electrical, Plumbing, or Fire Protection
  • Have minimum 6 - 10 years of industry experience
  • Fluent in at least one trade
  • High level of proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, and BIM360 required.  Skills in other software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Dynamo, ProCore, eVolve, Project Wise, Engyte are ideal
  • Ability to coordinate with other team members (internal and external
  • Possess a strong, self-motivated work ethic
  • Understand requirements for BIM and various LOD
  • Ability to perform and coordinate clash detection functions
  • Evaluate clash detection and delegate where necessary for internal coordination and quality control
  • Experience creating/implementing BIM Execution Plans
  • Setting up new projects models following project standards
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Be an alpha but not be afraid to let others lead also
  • Teamwork skills:  capable of working well with others on the team and across the office
  • Ability to work independently
  • Communication skills:  provides clear, concise information to others via verbal or written communication; actively listens and learns through observation
  • Be open to learning as we believe in ongoing professional development
  • Support innovation through research and testing of new technologies
  • The ability to accomplish/complete a task while demonstrating concern for all parts involved, no matter how small, ensuring accuracy, thoroughness, and focus
  • Aid in re-examining traditional strategies and practices, and proactively looking for new ideas and ways to improve workflows
  • Able to plan and consciously control how much time is spent on specific activities so that the right amount of time is allocated to the right activity

Work Environment

This job operates onsite, with travel to office locations or project sites as needed. This is paired with a subset of working remotely. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, video conferencing tools and cameras, phones, copiers, etc.

Physical Demands

  • Work is performed in an office environment
  • Flexibility to work various schedules nd longer hours when necessary with little or no notice
  • Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
  • Mobility required within an office and construction site environments
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
