Speech Therapist

Introduction:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech Therapist to join our team and provide high-quality care to our clients.  We are an inhouse therapy company with four facilities in Broward County and one in North Miami.  We are looking for PRN staff to assist with patient care.  The Speech Therapist will assess clients for dysphagia, communication and cognitive skills, develop treatment plans, and provide therapy to help clients improve their ability to swallow and communicate. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of evidence-based practices and be able to work collaboratively with clients and other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate clients' functional abilities and needs

• Develop and implement treatment plans based on client goals and needs

• Collaborate with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of treatment

• Document clients' progress and outcomes using electronic medical records

• Stay up-to-date with current research and evidence-based practices in speech therapy

• Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain and improve skills

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Current state license as a Speech Therapist

• Prior experience in long term care setting preferred with assessment and treatment of dysphagia.

• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices and ability to apply them in practice

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and other healthcare professionals

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
