Chula Seafood is opening in Downtown Phoenix at the Arizona Center, and we’re looking for a talented, driven Sous Chef to join our opening team.


This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, leads by example, and takes pride in consistency, execution, and team development. As Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Executive Chef to help build and lead a high-performing BOH team from the ground up.

What You’ll Do:

• Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations

• Lead and manage line cooks, prep, and dish team during service

• Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and execution

• Uphold all food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards

• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training the opening BOH team

• Help manage inventory, ordering, and product quality

• Maintain prep standards, pars, and kitchen organization

• Support scheduling and labor management

• Jump in wherever needed — this is a hands-on role



What You Bring:

• 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience (Sous Chef or strong Lead Line)

• A passion for high-quality food and kitchen excellence

• Strong communication and team leadership skills

• Ability to stay organized and calm under pressure

• Experience in high-volume kitchens

• Food safety certification (or ability to obtain)

• Seafood experience is a plus, but not required
