Sonography Instructor
Role Summary
The role of the Sonography Instructor is to guide students through the practical skills sessions of the program.
Responsibilities:
- Assures that all students are taught skills properly
- Maintains consistency and conformity when demonstrating skills
- Assures that students are supervised during skill practice sessions
- Be a good role model for students
- Bring problems to the attention of their immediate supervisor
- Be an objective evaluator for the skill examinations and evaluations
- Maintains records of students’ performance and activities during skill sessions
- Maintains knowledge of program goals
- Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuing professional development
Requirements:
- Two (2) years of full-time practical occupational experience in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- HS Diploma required Accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Certificate required; Associate or more advanced degree preferred
- Current ARDMS registration in specialty required;
- BPSS Teacher license preferred
