SolidWorks Designer
Job Description
This Designer/Design Engineer will provide mechanical design support for the creation of 3D models and drawings used to design, fabricate, install, and test equipment related to enrichment technologies. Responsibilities include the development of parametric engineering models/drawings of tight tolerance machined components, weldments, tooling fixtures, facility installations, and utility connections. This position demands a high level of accountability and technical knowledge, as well as the ability to work both independently and as an effective member of a high-performance project team. This position requires an active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent.
Qualifications:
- A 2 year Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Computer Aided Drafting and Design is preferred
- Previous experience in a Nuclear/government environment is required
- Active DOE Q Security Clearance or equivalent is required
Experience:
The ideal candidate for this SolidWorks Designer role would have the following:
- 3 years’ plus design experience in SolidWorks
- 10 years’ plus experience with any 3D CAD platform (Creo, Catia, Solidworks, etc.)
- 10 years’ plus experience with CAD databases/configuration management
- Prior working knowledge of centrifuge or other high-speed rotary equipment
- Prior experience in the design of high vacuum systems
- At least 2 years of experience in a Nuclear environment
- An enthusiastic attitude and willingness to engage in assignments
- A desire to take ownership in the work that's being performed
- Comfortable working closely with the client and other senior engineering personnel to complete design work to specifications and requirements
