Job Summary- Part Time

The Social Media Manager is a vital part of the Marketing & Communications team and is responsible for boosting the social media presence of Deer Run and developing long-term growth strategies for Deer Run’s social media presence online. This position uses strategies within multiple social media platforms to connect users to the mission and ministry of Deer Run, building and developing relationships between users in a virtual setting with the goal of transitioning those relationships into multiple in-person connections at Deer Run. They create and execute digital marketing strategies to inform, increase brand awareness, advertise, and attract public interest.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Research and create informed campaigns that appeal to targeted audiences.

·         Collaborate with marketing team members to create a social media calendar.

·         Collaborate with marketing team members to develop and post social media content that aligns with digital marketing strategies.

·         Collaborate with designers and photographers to post excellent, engaging, well-designed and informative campaigns that align with Deer Run brand standards.

·         Contribute to the content creation process by  

o   Attending events and producing live social media content.

o   Assisting in creation of written, video, and photo content.

·         Manage Deer Run social media accounts.

o   Create, schedule, and post a variety of strategic social media content on Deer Run social media accounts, such as posts, reels, stories, Q&As, polls, contests, giveaways, etc.

o   Monitor all social media content.

o   Interact with followers and respond to comments and questions. Share when Deer Run is tagged as appropriate.

o   Track the performance and engagement of posts and campaigns. Develop and implement strategies to increase performance and engagement.

·         Develop a long-term social media strategy in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Director, developing strategies and plans to utilize additional social media platforms.

·         Keep up with technologies and trends used in social media and implement within Deer Run campaigns.

·         Maintain a unified brand voice across different social media channels.

·         Write, edit and review marketing and communications copy for social media posts, email communication, website updates and additions, signage and other forms of communication as needed.

11.  Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in digital and social media marketing and communication.

 

Work Experience:

·         2+ years social media management experience

·         1+ years writing and editorial experience

·         1 year ministry experience beneficial but not required

·         Expertise using social media management tools

·         Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premier Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools a plus

 

Education: High School Diploma or GED

 

Required Licenses or Certifications: None

 

Major area of study: Marketing, Communications, Social Media, Editorial or Business/Public Relations (preferred, not required)
