Social Media Content Creation Specialist (Hybrid)

Produce thumb-stopping, pet-centric content that converts awareness into retailer traffic and community advocacy across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
Work Performed:
The Social Media Content Creation Specialist is responsible for creating, managing, and implementing social media strategies for an organization. They focus on building and engaging an audience, creating content, and measuring the success of campaigns across various social media platforms.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Ideate, film, and edit 3–5 short-form videos per week featuring our products and pet talent.
· Own the content calendar, including retailer-exclusive drops timed to in-store resets.
· Track trends, hashtags, and audio memes; pitch reactive content within 24-hour windows.
· Partner with influencers, manage product seeding, and amplify high-performing UGC.
· Report reach, engagement, and traffic lifts; A/B test hooks, captions, and CTAs.
· Develop, curate, and publish engaging content (text, images, videos, etc.) across social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
· Respond to comments, messages, and other inquiries, fostering community and building relationships with followers.
· Run social media ad campaigns, managing budgets, and optimizing campaigns for maximum reach and engagement.
· Keep abreast of social media trends, best practices, and platform updates to ensure content remains relevant and effective.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other:
· Comfortable appearing on camera and handling pets of all sizes.
· Strong understanding of FTC disclosure rules and brand safety.
· Understanding the nuances and best practices of various platforms like X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others is crucial.
· Proficiency in writing, editing, and producing engaging text, photos, and videos for social media
· Skill in creating visually appealing and branded graphics and social media assets
· Experience with tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom
· Understanding target audience demographics, interests, and behaviors is essential for creating relevant content
· Skilled at managing multiple social media campaigns and tasks efficiently
· Ability to create compelling narratives and share Outward Hound’s brand story through social media content
· Skilled and effective communication, both written and verbal
· Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new platforms, trends and algorithms
· Working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment is crucial; skilled at priortiziation and adapting
· Ability to collaborate and work effectively with other teams and stakeholders
Qualifications:
· 3+ years creating social-first video content; expert in CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar.
· Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, public relations, journalism or similar.
· Portfolio or reel required with application.

Annual Salary Range: $55K - $80K DOE
