SUMMARY

As a Snow Groomer at Peek n Peak, you will be an integral part of our commitment to providing an exceptional skiing experience. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the quality of all assigned slopes, ensuring safe and enjoyable conditions for our guests. This role requires a skilled operator with a strong attention to detail and a passion for outdoor winter sports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Preseason Equipment Maintenance: Perform comprehensive inspections and maintenance on grooming machinery prior to the start of the ski season to ensure optimal performance.
  • Snowmaking System Oversight: Monitor the snowmaking systems for potential issues or hazards, promptly communicating any concerns to the snowmaking team.
  • Assistance in Snowmaking Operations: Collaborate with snowmaking personnel at the beginning of the season to ensure quality snow coverage across all trails.
  • Nightly Groomer Maintenance: Conduct thorough nightly inspections of grooming equipment, checking fluid levels, tires, and hoses to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Maintenance Documentation: Accurately complete maintenance logs and reports as required, maintaining a detailed record of equipment status.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Be flexible in taking on various tasks as assigned by management to support overall resort operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Heavy Equipment Operation: Proven experience operating heavy machinery and track vehicles is strongly preferred.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as necessary to meet operational needs.
  • Depth Perception Skills: Strong ability to assess snow depth and surface conditions accurately.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to effectively work alongside snowmakers and other team members to achieve shared goals.
  • Snow Management Expertise: Knowledge of snow management techniques and the ability to advise on slope conditions to optimize grooming efforts.
  • Equipment Maintenance Knowledge: Familiarity with proper maintenance procedures, including fluid checks and routine repairs.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in snow grooming or related fields is highly desirable.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Valid Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license is required to operate grooming vehicles and transport equipment as needed.

  • Groomers must be at least 21 years of age to operate heavy equipment at the parks.
  • Physical Strength: Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment (up to 100 pounds).
  • Work Environment: Employees should be prepared for extreme weather conditions and are advised to dress in layers to adapt to changing temperatures.
