SUMMARY:  WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc. is a defense contractor dedicated to providing outstanding program management, engineering, logistics, and operations support to Department of Defense customers. The SME Project Manager will work under the direction of WinTec Arrowmaker’s Prototype Maintenance Facility Program Manager and is responsible for managing projects to make sure proposed plans adheres to the timeline, budget and scope. Additional responsibilities include planning projects in detail, creation of software designed for military research and development work. Including overseeing and coordinating the people, resources and processes required to deliver new products and software or upgrade existing products and software; while reporting directly to the WinTec Program Manager.  * Travel is required*

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage communication plans and processes.

  • Providing education, leadership and facilitation on agile processes, with customers and internally. 

  • Break down complex projects into their deliverables. 

  • Analyze and develop procedures for management and technical duties.

  • Understand technical & functional goals.

  • Review and report on resource levels, levels of efficiency, and productivity. 

  • Define project responsibilities with management.

  • Support budget and staff allocations for projects.

  • Maintain project time frames, budget estimates and status reports.

  • Oversee the design and development of prototype and production engineering projects.

  • Oversee the design and development of software applications, implementation of the project’s activities and executing a plan of action.

  • Conducting team meetings and product reviews.

  • Working with a team developing applications on a Windows, Linux and Android OS.

  • Designing and building design models, User Interfaces, and other software engineering diagrams.

  • Participate in various government sponsored team meetings, conference calls, and other tasks as requested.

  • Working with customers to achieve product goals and deliverables.

  • May require consulting with military operators and/or hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, operational and performance requirements of overall system.

  • May also be required to coordinate installation of software systems.

  • Anticipate travel 25% (Approximately 3 to 5 trips per year, with each trip lasting 10 to 12 days).

 

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.

  • 10+ years of experience managing projects.

  • 8+ years of experience with the engineering and software development cycle.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • 10+ years of experience with Engineering Research and Development.

  • 5+ years of experience in design and manufacturing of PCBs.

  • Intimate knowledge of the Engineering Development Cycle.

  • Understanding of the Android OS.

  • Ability to efficiently react to shifting program requirements.

  • Possess sharp analytical skills, good math, and an understanding of physics.

  • Should be flexible enough to tackle many types of projects.

  • Military background or familiarity with military command and control structures.

  • Possess a working knowledge of the organizational interface of military, federal, state, and local agencies. 

  • Demonstrate time management, problem-solving skills, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to efficiently react to shifting program requirements and work in a team environment.

  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

 

SECURITY CLEARANCE:  Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret security clearance.
