Summary
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer selected will be responsible for the quality control of all homes constructed in a the community, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.
Responsibilities
- Work in labour and apprentice carpentry scopes of work for residential and commercial construction.
- Assist in tasks such as housekeeping, quality management and safety of all buildings constructed in a project
- Perform touch ups and repairs on sub-trade deficiencies
- Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subcontractors
- Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun
- Support the WCC team as needed for the project lifecyle
- Other tasks as required by the site foreman
Requirements
- 2+ years of construction labour and/or carpentry experience
- Experience in residential construction is an asset
- Good verbal communication skills
- Understanding of how to use small tools and power tools
- Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
- Great work ethic and willingness to be a team player
- Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
- Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
