Skilled Labourer or Apprentice Carpenter

Summary

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer selected will be responsible for the quality control of all homes constructed in a the community, ensuring the compliance with local building code and company safety policy. The Apprentice Carpenter / Skilled Labourer is also responsible for general site maintenance and clean-up as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work in labour and apprentice carpentry scopes of work for residential and commercial construction.
• Assist in tasks such as housekeeping, quality management and safety of all buildings constructed in a project
  
• Perform touch ups and repairs on sub-trade deficiencies
• Carpentry work that falls outside of the scope of work of subcontractors
• Proficient knowledge and use of power tools such as air nailers, skill saw, screw gun
  
• Support the WCC team as needed for the project lifecyle
• Other tasks as required by the site foreman

Requirements

• 2+ years of construction labour and/or carpentry experience
• Experience in residential construction is an asset
  
• Good verbal communication skills
  
• Understanding of how to use small tools and power tools
  
• Highly organized, results-oriented and able to work in a multi-functional team environment
• Great work ethic and willingness to be a team player
• Appearance must be neat, clean and professional
• Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license
