ELM Utility Services, with over 1000 employees nationwide, has an outstanding opportunity as a Site Monitor Technician, working in the Utah County area. As a Site Monitor Technician, your primary responsibility will be to monitor excavation activities near high-profile gas facilities and ensure that safe and approved practices are utilized.  You will also be responsible for verifying previous locate marks made by other ELM Locate Technicians, as well as damage prevention through education and preventative patrolling. With starting pay from $22.50-$30.00 per hour DOQ, you will be provided paid training by ELM using ELM equipment, including company provided vehicle to work independently as your mobile office. ELM utilizes our LaunchPoint software system with state-of-the-art technology to ensure the job is as simple and efficient as possible for our technicians. This will require that you manage your own daily route and schedule within certain parameters, and that you are committed to the high quality and accuracy of your work to ensure that clients and contractors can operate in complete safety, with full knowledge of the location of any underground utility lines they may encounter.

Your specific duties in this role will include, but not limited to:
 
·         Verifying previous marking for high-profile underground gas utilities
·         Completing all necessary paperwork
·         Maintaining daily contact with utility managers, crews, homeowners and contractors, discussing locate issues
·         Receiving daily jobs via computer/device
·         Prioritizing your daily work by going through all locate requests to determine routing
·         Reading and understanding utility-provided maps to assist in identification of underground utilities
·         Ensuring that clients and contractors suffer no damages or injuries due to mis-located utilities
·         Monitoring active excavations near high-profile gas facilities and ensuring safe practices are used
·         Inspecting exposed gas facilities for damage
 
Specific qualifications for the position include:
 
·         High School Diploma or GED required
·         Must be at least 18 years of age
·         At least 90 days of proven, gas locating experience is required.
·         Valid driver’s license with a good Motor Vehicle Record
·         Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen. 
***Please note: This is a Safety-Sensitive DOT position that must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations. The use of Marijuana remains a drug listed in Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act, and the use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
